Internship
As a culinary intern at Let Them Eat Cakes LLC. we would like to help students and willing culinary enthusiasts learn to prepare, create, and cook recipes with the skills and knowledge of a culinary professional. Our goal is to help expose our interns that have an eagerness to learn, the importance of wellness, nutrition, food safety, knife skills, time management and express their own culinary creativity. We hope to provide one on one mentorship and valuable feedback to help them in their steps to start their professional hospitality career. We hope you become part of the growing LTEC family!
Responsibilities:
Maintain the baking area in a hygiene manner
Maintain and sanitize baking utensils, tools, implements, and machinery
Strictly following food and safety guidelines and laws while preparing baking products
Decorate and write messages on cakes
Properly label food products for sale
Thoroughly read labels and recipes to prevent cross contamination
Arrives to work on-time, appropriately dressed, groomed and ready to work
Qualifications:
Ability to follow time and temp VDAC and FDA guidelines
Baking or Culinary Experience
SERVSAFE Food Handler or Management Certification and Sanitation
Ability to treat team members with kindness and respect
Ability to be on feet for hours at a time
High School or Culinary Arts training
ServeSafe food handlers certification
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to help with deliveries, catering events, and competitions
Ability to be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work with a flexible schedule
Job Expectations
Unpaid 60 day internship
6 hours 3 days a week
Flexibility to work on weekends or events (will be paid for the day of said events)
Help with prepping ingredients (exp.chopping ingredients, making frosting)
Cake decorating
Clear understanding of using kitchen tools and equipment.
Washing Dishes and cleaning work space
